Training & Nutrition

As a crossfitter, an athlete, and a health and fitness enthusiast over the past 4 years I have done hours upon hours of research (some when I should have been doing my day job) and reading on programming and nutrition. I have implemented various regimens and diets on myself, my friends, and my loved ones. I have learned over the years that both nutrition and training regimens are highly individualized, constantly changing based on your goals and your lifestyle, and that there is always something new to learn and play with.

My research has included everything from Stonglifts 5x5, Crossfit, HIIT and kettlebell training, to the Paleo Diet, Carb Backloading, Glycemic Index, The Zone Diet (macro nutrient ratios), and Sleep Improvements. I am Crossfit Level 1 certified and have coached crossfit classes as a part time job for the last three years. I am NOT a nutritionist, nor am I a certified personal trainer. What I offer is common sense advice (backed by an engineer's motivated research towards maximum efficiency) to improve the benefits you are already getting out of your eating, sleeping, and training.

The following is a short testimonial from my original guinea pig and very good friend and training client, Rachel K.

Chelsea introduced me to Crossfit in January 2012, over a year ago now. With her support my body has gone through an amazing transformation. When I started working out with her I could do no pull ups and no real push-ups just to name the two most common and obvious thing that come to mind. Now they are just part of my daily routine. I can move weights now that I have never thought would be possible, and I haven't quit. Let me repeat that sentence. I haven't quit. When I felt like throwing in the towel she simply had the right words. She helped by either just telling me up to zip it and get to it, or being the emotional trashcan and listening to my whining because that was what I needed. And believe me, I am a black belt at whining! She has not only helped me athletically along way, but nutritionally as well, which for me was a way bigger challenge and where I have seen the biggest changes. My blood work is healthier than ever. I feel fitter than ever. I am very thankful to know her. I call it her Jedi mind trick that she is able to help me succeed in so many areas from such a distance, given that I live in Europe and there is a whole Ocean separating us!
