Test #3
7min AMRAP
10 Thrusters #53
5 burpees
7rnds + 4 reps = 109 reps
My notes: I was not far off from the boys scores and actually beat the old guy and the big guy on this one. I felt like I was reaching muscle fatigue moreso than having a breathing issue in both my quads and my shoulders. I did the first two rounds of thrusters unbroken. The third round I had to stop at 6, so the following rounds I purposely broke into two sets of 5. This was maintainable for the remainder of the workout.
Notes from James: Cues I got during the workout were "Your thrusters look solid" and "Keep up the same pace". After the workout, James made the comment that I looked prepared to 'go there' the same as yesterday, and he thought that if it had been something other than burpees in the workout (ie, not upper body) I would have been laying on the floor in a similar manner. He also commented that I have great squat mechanics and short arms, and that I would always score well on anything with thrusters in it.
Test #4
100m Prowler Push with #95
1:16
My Notes: I was starting to feel pretty tired at this point in the weekend. I lost my 'oomph' about 50m in, whereas most others I'd watched didn't lose it until about 75m.
Notes from James: He didn't give many notes on the last three tests other than that my strength to weight ratio is not as good as it could be.
Test #5
20 rounds of 4 unbroken COVP pull ups for time
(The boys did 20 rounds of 5 unbroken CTB pullups)
My Notes: Butterflied almost all of them and was really surprised that I was able to maintain that. I did the last two sets regular just to pop them out quicker. I tore my left hand around rnd 3 but it didn't hurt. Just bled a lot.
Notes from James: He actually was going to have me do C2B but then saw me do a couple and changed his mind. He also had the old guy do the same as me with COVP. He also gave me the comment during the workout that on my sets of 4, the second rep tended to be a bit sketchy as to whether I made my chin over the bar, so I corrected by making sure I kicked hard enough after the first one.
Test #6
3mins for max Cals/Distance on AirDyne
59cals/1.11 miles
My notes: This was as horrible as it sounded. I put everything I had left into it.
Notes from James: The only thing he said about this one was a few words of encouragement beforehand.
