Integrity's Revenge - Day 2

Pre-WOD: Ate a good dinner of lettuce wrapped beef tacos, some corn tortilla chips, and guac. Went to bed around 11 as I knew I didn't have to be up until 8am. Sofa bed was uncomfortable again, but I managed to sleep okay. Woke and got some more coffee, ate pulled pork, greens, banana, and guac for bfast. I was feeling pretty sore all over and generally tired, and instead of staying nice and cool with clouds like it was in the morning, by the time noon rolled around and it was go time it was scorching hot again.

WOD 4:
25 kbs #53
25 kbsdhp
25 burpees
15 db snatch 1arm #45
15 db c&j 1arm
175m run
25 box jumps 20inches
30 DUS (on top of the cement block)
15 Thrusters #95
Time cap 13 min

This workout was tough mentally. I didn't have quite a quick enough pace in the beginning. The kettlebell swings weren't a problem except that because I was exaggerating trying to keep the kettlebell flat, I had a couple tip over behind my hands. Thankfully the judge was still counting those...but it did mean I had to stop and regrip. I went WAY too slow on the sdhp. I'm not sure what I was thinking. My brain was probably off. Burpees I did as fast as my legs would let me go and they felt terrible because the black piece of mat I did them on was hot as hell. Got one no rep for clapping behind my head instead of above it. Snatches were okay. I did a few per arm. Got one rep taken away for not being locked out over my shoulder. Clean & jerks were just annoying. I would have rather done 30 snatches. The run was kinda slow. Box jumps were horrible and felt like they took forever. Did the DUs in two sets. 23 + 7. Thrusters were coming in singles until the end when I strung two together. Got through 7 thrusters. Ate a bunch of lunchmeat, raisins, banana, etc after this one. Had about 4hrs until the next one.

WOD 5
AMRAP:
4 power clean (115lb)
6 wallball (14lb – 11ft)
8 chest-to-bar pullups (on a trapese bar)

This workout was heavily weighted so basically whatever place we got here was out final placing. I went into it in 5th place and came out in 6th place. I did 3rnds + 4pcs. The wallballs are where I lost most of my ground. 11ft was really high, and it was basically an all out effort to get the ball up there every rep. The pullups actually weren't too bad using a sort of butterfly c2b kip and getting your body more horizontal when you pulled up so that you were pulling on the bar in an up-and-down motion instead of a sideways one so that it didn't get to swinging too badly. All the power cleans were TnG, no issue there.

After the workouts I had some alcoholic beverages. I was already feeling terrible and I didn't feel any better later. I felt absolutely awful the next day.

Things I will defintely remember for next competion: Packing my compression gear to sleep in, packing chalk and a towel (though this venue actually had a ton of chalk and I used a shirt for a towel), and giving up the celebratory drinks in favor of going to bed early.
