Hips were a little tight. Gave them some extra attention in the warm up and though I felt it, it didn't affect range of motion or anything during the WOD. Finished the round of 21's at 4mins. I didn't keep excellent track of how I broke things up, I was using the 'least possible rest' method kind of treeing down from sets of 5 or 6 to singles every round. I definitely went fast enough to keep my lungs working, which was new for this workout.
Significant PR. Good work.
ReplyDeleteA helpful trick for these kinds of workouts where muscle fatigue becomes the limiter.
Instead of going for 6 reps, then a break(example). Base it more on feel. Try to go to failure -1, or -2, THEN take your short rest and go back at it.
The CP battery can recover much faster when it is not totally cooked.
Good work, kid.
I think that's what I was trying to describe with my 'least amount of rest' comment. I was not going to failure, but doing as you described. The sets sort of cascade smaller this way though. I find this works out well for the workouts that are just a little too long to go balls out like Fran or the row/kbs/burpee tester.
