Saturday - Went to the US National White Water Center with my coworkers and spent about 4 hours running through ropes courses and rafting. I had planned on doing at least a portion of the work out when I got home mid afternoon but I was wiped and I passed out and took a nap instead.
Sunday - Olympic lifting Class at UCF with Mie the Amazing Asian
A. 1 HPS + 2 PS was the original assignment but Mie had me switch to HPS doubles instead, working specifically on getting the bar further into my hips and landing solidly on my heels. I worked up to about #100 for a double.
B. Clean Pulls off blocks (just above knees), sets of 3. Specific work on second pull (no catch) from blocks. It felt awkward and Mie said that when I got tired I was pulling a bit too much with my back, but I think I got the hang of it okay and felt very explosive. Worked up to about #140.
Good. This kind of technique coaching is a great addition.
